12 new music releases worth checking out today
Here are some of this week's new music and video releases worthy of your attention.
Fun Fact: Pearl Jam wasn’t the band’s original name. They were originally named "Mookie Blaylock," after the NBA player. The band members were fans of Blaylock and even named their debut album Ten after his jersey number. However, due to trademark issues, they eventually changed their name to what we know it as today: Pearl Jam.
Now for the new releases.
This week, the music scene sees some fresh releases worthy of a listen. From emerging artists to mainstay icons, let’s dive into the latest tracks making waves in the world of alternative music (with maybe some other genres sprinkled in), and maybe you’ll end up finding a few of your next favorite tunes. So in no particular order, let's get right into it.
The Dangerous Summer - “Pacific Ocean”
The upcoming Gravity album is shaping up to arguably be Album of the Year. I’ve loved everything they’ve been releasing since 2022. The new album is set to arrive on June 21 via Hopeless Records.
The Devil Wears Prada + LØLØ - “Reasons”
Metalcore band The Devil Wears Prada joins forces with singer LØLØ to deliver a fresh take on their song "Reasons." This track originally appeared in 2023 with a different twist featuring electronic artists Excision and Wooli.
Bearings - "Stormy Weather"
Softcult - “9 Circles”
The Interrupters – “Alien”
Twenty One Pilots – “The Craving”
The duo has also released their brand new album Clancy.
Boston Manor - “Heat Me Up”
Boston Manor has also announced that their brand new album Sundiver will be released on September 6th via SharpTone Records.
Sublime + Stick Figure - “Feel Like That” featuring both Bradley Nowell and his son
From Rolling Stone:
IN EARLY 1996, the three members of Sublime — frontman Bradley Nowell, bassist Eric Wilson, and drummer Bud Gaugh — were jamming in Willie Nelson’s Pedernales Studio in Austin, Texas, when they broke into an improvised, half-formed song that bootleggers would later call “Eireen.” Frontman Bradley Nowell, who would die of an overdose in May of that year, wasn’t taking the song entirely seriously, adding multiple lyrics about his “anus.” But there’s a striking moment when they hit a dub-influenced groove together and Nowell lands on a catchy refrain — “let me tell you why I feel like that.”
28 years later, a song built around that moment, “Feel Like That (featuring Bradley Nowell),” is the first original Sublime studio track since Nowell’s death, featuring additional vocals from both Scott Woodruff of SoCal reggae band Stick Figure and Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob Nowell, who took over as Sublime’s singer beginning with a Coachella performance this year.
Hannah Grae - “New Temptation” and “Aeroplane Jelly”
Honey Revenge - “Recipe for Disaster”
Honey Revenge’ new track, “Recipe For Disaster”, comes from the upcoming extended version of their debut album Retrovision which is due out in August 2024.
Bring Me The Horizon - “n/A”
The band also surprised dropped their new long-awaited album POST HUMAN: NeX GEn.
That’ll do it for this week! Happy listening.

Will check some of them out, thanks!
My favorite of the week goes to The Dangerous Summer's "Pacific Ocean". This may just end up taking the top spot for my album of the year.
