Good morning!
Fun Fact: On this day in music, June 29, 2003, Beyoncé's debut album, Dangerously in Love, entered the UK and US album charts at No.1. Released during Destiny's Child's hiatus, the album showcased Beyoncé's rise as an international superstar, propelled by hit singles like "Crazy in Love" and "Baby Boy." Widely acclaimed, Dangerously in Love garnered numerous awards, including a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and was later featured on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s list of 200 Definitive Albums that Shaped Rock and Roll.
Let’s get to the new releases.
This week, the music scene sees some fresh releases worthy of a listen. From emerging artists to mainstay icons, let’s dive into the latest tracks making waves in the world of alternative music (with maybe some other genres sprinkled in). Who knows. Maybe you’ll end up finding a few of your next favorite tunes. So in no particular order, let's get right into it. Here are some of this week's new music and video releases worthy of your attention.
mgk - “Sun to Me” (Zach Bryan Cover)
We’ve already seen the likes of Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, and Post Malone pivoting into country music. Now it looks like mgk is the next big name to try out the country route. During CMA Fest at Spotify House he performed a cover of The Chicks’ “There’s Your Trouble” from their debut album, Wide Open Spaces.
Taylor Acorn - “Survival In Motion”
This is the title track off of Taylor’s upcoming debut album which is due out on September 13th. On the album, she says: “I feel like I’ve been waiting a lifetime to be able to say, ‘I’m putting out a debut album,’ but in all honesty I’m so glad I waited for as long as I have. I feel like I’ve finally found my sound – I’ve fallen in love with every single song in its own right, the writing process was truly something I’ll never forget. I’m not sure what will come next, but this chapter is something that I am so unbelievably proud of and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. I hope you love it and I hope you find peace in knowing that no matter what we go through, we are all walking representation of Survival In Motion and life is a gift no matter how crazy it can be.”
Real Friends - “Waiting Room”
The new track is set to be featured on the band’s recently announced album which will be released this Fall.

You don’t have to just put on this facade, this mask, and hide yourself away.”
