Best Pop Punk Bands To See Live
Pop punk has been around for a long time. There have been a handful of bands who have paved the way to glory, getting fans to buy tickets to live shows in any city you could imagine. Even today, venues sell out to pop punk fans, whether they're day ones or newcomers. In honor of pop punk still headlining tours, here are some of the best pop punk bands to see live.
Neck Deep
From the streets of Wales, Neck Deep have been absolutely rocking the stage every night. Lead singer Ben Barlow's nasally voice is pure and melodic when it comes to pop punk. With their hit album Life's Not Out To Get You, they've been killers in the scene for a few years now. Not only does their studio music do well, but their on-stage performances are one to remember. Don't believe us, check out their performance at the 2016 APMA's below!
Real Friends
From Chicago, Real Friends are as pop punk as it gets. They bleed everything it means to be edgy but fun with their personalities, but establish it even further with their on-stage antics. If you're looking for an anthemic and emotionally riddled performance with their recent album Composure, mixed in with dick jokes and classic pop punk humor, then Real Friends are the band for you and you MUST see them. Check out their performance at the final Vans Warped Tour this previous summer below!
State Champs
Let's face it, State Champs are the poster boys of pop punk right now. They're the band who made flannels with band tees underneath a fashion statement. In just a handful of years, they've managed to create one of the most iconic pop punk albums in the history of the genre with Around The World and Back, which has been loved by listeners even outside the scene. However, they've done a great job following up the expectations with 2018's Living Proof. Don't think they live up to the hype? Well, check out their set at the final Vans Warped Tour as well. They kick ass!
Blink-182
I don't care whether you've been a fan for 20 years, or you came along for the ride when Matt Akiba joined the band. When you watch Blink-182 live, it's a show full of history, hilarious banter, and fantastic drumming by Travis Barker. No, the band might not be who they were ten years ago, but they still rock out on stage like it's 1999 (without Tom DeLonge, of course). Haven't seem them yet? Well check out a show I went to below!
Sum 41
Deryck Whibley is a god. There, it's said and done. Although he wouldn't like to be titled as a pop punk artist, we cannot deny his band and their roots connected to the scene. Yes, they might be more punk rock, but they still fit the genre. Sum 41 is sight in itself, based on the fantastic voice and guitar work by Whibley. Not to mention, witnessing some of the greatest hits of the early 2000's is a great experience itself. Check out their performance at the Reading Festival this past summer below!
