Indighxst tackle issues of depression in new track "Limbo"
Indighxst, post-hardcore outfit hailing from New Jersey, dropped their new single, "Limbo" today. Due to social distancing restrictions this is the band’s first single of 2020, joining previous 2019 hits "Vision" and "Pyromance". Created during an overwhelming time in vocalist Wesley Ayala’s life, "Limbo" indulges in the darker, emo counterpart of Indighxst’s versatile post-hardcore meets hip-hop sound established in popular tracks "Pyromance" or "Ride". "Limbo" is a chance for fans to see Wesley at his most vulnerable as he boldly opens up about his grievous struggle with substance abuse and depression. Talking about the new track, Wesley says: “Around the time of writing lyrics for "Limbo", I was struggling with mental health issues and drug abuse. It was hard to see a future for myself. I had attempted suicide and I was in and out hospitals. I wrote about how I felt during that time. "Limbo" is about not seeing a way out. It’s about struggling to find purpose and living life on autopilot; not feeling anything. We all have those moments. It used to be difficult to snap out of. Sometimes when you’re thinking about your past struggles, it’s easy to get stuck in negativity, especially with songs like these. Now I take it as a reminder of how far I’ve come. I can separate the past from the present a lot better. I’d like for this song to show our audience that they aren’t alone and that their pain is temporary.” Despite a turbulent 2020, Indighxst persevere - the trio have been keeping busy during lockdown, Wesley finds himself as a FeaturedX artist available to book for track features. Bryan is working and was touring (pre-COVID) with other bands, as well as being a father of two. Denly, also known as Amil D’Mor, is a multi-platinum producer and engineer in New York City, working with huge names outside of heavy music like Polo G and Blackbear.
