K.Flay reveals new album 'MONO', music video for "Punisher"
K.Flay has just released her latest album MONO. To go along with the release, she's also dropped a music video for one of the album's tracks, "Punisher", which you can check out below. On "Punisher", K.Flay explains, "Sometimes I love songs where there's not a lot of mystery. You play it loud and it feels extremely good; it makes you feel tough and powerful - and powerful in a way that's generative rather than oppressive, like a power plant or pedaling a bike."
In addition to "Punisher," K.Flay has collaborated with Vic Fuentes from Pierce The Veil on "Irish Goodbye" and with Kid Sistr on "Spaghetti." The entire MONO album, produced by Paul Meany, explores profound existential questions and intricate matters of the heart and mind.
The title of the album, MONO, carries multiple meanings. It reflects the shift in K.Flay's auditory experience, from stereo to mono. However, it also signifies the idea that our entire experience of the world exists within ourselves. K.Flay emphasizes, "You can view that as alienating, or you can view it as the natural circumstances of existence – something we all share. So when people hear the album, I’d love for them to come away with a feeling of strength in their aloneness.”
