How long have you been pursuing music as individuals?
Life Lost Sierra: Josh has been drumming for 16 years. Jeff has been a vocalist for a year but has been a professional musician for 8. Garrett has been playing music for 18 years.
How did you guys come together as a band?
Life Lost Sierra: We all went to the same school for music. Garrett and Josh sat next to each other on the first day and it was on after that. A friend referred Jeff to us and it was a great fit.
What is your writing process like?
Life Lost Sierra: Our writing process is mainly chilling and taking our time and focusing on enjoying the creative process. Also, challenging and vibing off each other plays a huge role in our creativity.
Which song of yours is your favorite and why? Is it something released or something to look forward to?
Life Lost Sierra: I think the unreleased stuff has our interest peaked most. When it comes to the writing process these ideas just come naturally. it’s usually finding the theme that fits the song that we’re trying to figure out.
What was your inspiration for "Asta"?
Life Lost Sierra: This is definitely our favorite released song. The theme is about pushing through whatever’s in your way. The name came from an anime called black clover. Asta also means “to stay” in Japanese so it’s all kind of fitting.
What bands have a strong influence on your sound? What bands are you listening to at the moment?
Life Lost Sierra: Bands that are inspirational to us include Volumes, Issues, Periphery, I See Stars, Oceans Ate Alaska, and Pouya. Bands that we are listening to include $uicideBoy$, Frank Ocean, Shakewell, Wage War, Thousand Below, Pouya, and Thy Art Is Murder.
What can we expect from you guys in the future? Any shows, new music, etc.?
Life Lost Sierra: We’re going to be releasing more of our catalog. As far as shows we want to tour everywhere so whatever journey leads towards that.
Is there anything else you would like to say to your fans and APU readers?
Life Lost Sierra: Thank you for supporting and listening to us and music in general. We can’t wait to perform in front of you and most importantly grow with you.
