Loyalty To Me put forth a rock frenzy in new EP, 'Clash // Coexist'
Emo-rock band Loyalty To Me released their EP, Clash // Coexist on May 15.
The 5-track EP exudes an array of pop-induced melodies complimented by emo-rock sounds.
“Paint You Blue” kicks off Clash // Coexist on a high-energy note. Lyrics put out a sense of relatability paired with early pop-punk melodies, making listeners interested in what else Loyalty To Me has in store.
Following “Paint You Blue” comes “The Rest,” a hard hitting track with tough vocals and a darker tone. The song transitions smoothly throughout showcasing the bands capability to create new dynamics.
“Magenta,” demands attention from the second the first note hits. The chorus swings in with a hook filled theme and a second verse that tumbles down into a rock frenzy. Vocals make slight theatrics, fully submerging a listener's ears in something unique. “Magenta” switches gears as the words “crash the car on 28/run to your porch in the pouring rain/watch the makeup on your face turn into blemishes/everything's black /we'll never go back,” play-out, designing a new melody entirely, making for the perfect outro.

Next comes “Layover in London,” initiating a mellow tone that stays stagnant throughout. The track relies on power being pushed out from vocals. As the song reaches the end, the music ascends into a burst of fearless sounds keeping listeners on their toes.
The EP closes on “Rewrites,” coming in on a note of tranquil simplicity while continuing to add more elements before turning into a full-band moment. “Rewrites” pulls the record together, making it feel whole.
Clash // Coexist is the perfect bundle of early 2000’s pop-punk while still keeping it modern. Loyalty To Me gives music fans something refreshing to listen to.
