13 new music releases worth checking out today!
Here are some of this week's new music and video releases worthy of your attention.
Fun Fact: Did you know Weezer's "Buddy Holly" original chorus mentioned different people? Yup. An earlier version of the song, recorded by Rivers Cuomo in 1993, was much slower than the hit we all know. This demo, featured on Alone: The Home Recordings of Rivers Cuomo, reveals a surprising detail in the liner notes: the chorus originally referenced classic Hollywood dance duo Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Instead of "Oh wee-ooh, I look just like Buddy Holly," Rivers sang "Oo-wee-oo you look just like Ginger Rogers / Oh, oh, I move just like Fred Astaire." Thank goodness for the change. Could you imagine?
Now for the new releases.
