News you may have missed! (10/16/22)
This was the best pop-punk week ever + BLINK is BACK + The best pop-punk festival lineup you'll ever see + NEW MUSIC
Before we get into the newsletter, I want to apologize real quick for not sending out a newsletter last Sunday. It was impossible for me to do so as I was on vacation at Disney World with the fam. So let’s get into this week because…
Holy sh*t! What a week it was for pop punk! Rumors were swirling around two weeks ago claiming that a huge announcement from blink-182 would reveal that Tom DeLonge is back in the band—and that’s exactly what happened on October 11th, 2022. Not only is the blink-182 reunion with Tom finally a thing, but the band announced a world tour, a new album on the way, and also released a new song called “EDGING” which is the band’s first song as this trio in nearly a decade.
But that wasn’t it for pop punk this week. Shortly after the blink-182 reunion announcement, When We Were Young Festival announced their lineup for 2023. And let me tell you, it is STACKED with Green Day and blink-182 set as headliners. Other notable acts are 30 Seconds to Mars, Good Charlotte, The Offspring, All Time Low, Something Corporate, Yellowcard, Sum 41, Simple Plan, Pierce the Veil, Magnolia Park, Plain White Tees, The Veronicas, The Ataris, Bowling for Soup, Finch, Fenix Tx and Newfound Glory. The first date (currently it’s the only date, but we know more dates are coming) sold out on the first day (October 14th) that tickets were available for purchase.
I truly don’t think there has ever been a better week for pop punk. If you don’t believe me, read on.

Don’t worry, we’ll still be doing the newsy stuff too. So if you aren’t following our podcast yet, now may be is the best time to do so. Here are the links to follow on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
OUT MONDAY: SCARY SHIT: Show Me Some Skin / The Slaughter Yard
It's Spooky Season, and we want to celebrate by using this episode to take a break from the music news we normally bring you, and instead get into the scary season by sharing some believed-to-be-true scary stories. After each story, Tyler and John will discuss and determine whether or not they believe the story to be true or not.
For this week, we bring you two stories: Show Me Some Skin and The Slaughter Yard.
