News you may have missed! (11/13/20)
Halsey wants to release a punk rock album, Live Nation expect concerts to return next year and one ex-Paramore member has words for Hayley Williams
Good morning, everyone! It’s been a crazy week since our last mailer. I don’t remember a U.S. election being so tight and dragging on so long before declaring a winner. I’m just glad it’s over. I don’t think I’ve ever watched the news so closely and for such long periods at a time before.
Speaking of news. That’s why you’re here. Let’s get to it.
First up…
The All Punked Up Podcast
Ally and I (Bailey was off this week) host this week's episode. Listen to us talk about Spotify again. This time we discuss the streaming service's new tool that allows artists to boost songs or albums for exposure in return for lower royalty payouts. We also discuss ex-Paramore bassist Jeremy Davis' thoughts on Hayley Williams grouping him in with a recent alleged Josh Farro homophobic comment. We also discussed a new COVID-19 concert study that suggests that there is a low risk of infection when safety guidelines are in place. Finally, we share our thoughts on Ticketmaster's announcement of a new technology tool to help fans safely return to live events.
