News you may have missed! (11/20/20)
Kevin Lyman talks Warped Tour. A blink-182 and Green Day tour was in the works? And new music from A Day to Remember
It’s the mailer before Thanksgiving! It’s a time for us to reflect on the things we’re thankful for. I want you to know how thankful I am for your continued support. I certainly wouldn’t be able to grow this newsletter, our podcast, and website without all of your help. So thank you so much! I appreciate it more than you know.
With that said, I hope you are doing well. I know the holidays can be tough for a lot of us, so in a time when there’s a lot of conflict, let’s make sure to spread love and kindness where we can. By doing so, we may just help someone without knowing it.
Before we get into the news, I normally like to share updates within this newsletter with my thoughts on where I think All Punked Up is heading. After all, that’s the type of exclusive content I promised for these newsletters.
We recorded a podcast episode for this coming Monday last night (Thursday, Nov. 19). And I mentioned in that episode that I highly recommend that readers of our site go and sign up for this newsletter. For one, there’s more I want to be doing with this newsletter (adding more content). For two, the reason I’m encouraging people to sign up for the newsletter now is because there may be some changes coming to the All Punked Up site. And if people like reading our site, then they’ll want to continue getting news by subscribing to this mailer.
I can’t reveal too much right now because I don’t know everything just yet. But I do have a big shift in mind. I can promise you this though. You and others subscribed to this mailer will find out first.
So if I can ask a favor. If you know someone who would be interested in receiving a weekly newsletter that caters around the music scene we all know and love, please forward them this email or send them to allpunkedup.com/subscribe. Just like we say in our podcast: if we can reach more people just like you, it would really help us grow, and we would be extremely grateful for that.
Thanks for reading! Now let’s get to the news! But first the podcast…
The All Punked Up Podcast
Ally, Bailey and I invited the godfather of the scene and Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman to The All Punked Up Podcast. Not sure how we fit so much in in under 1 hour, but your favorite scene podcast hosts asked Kevin how he’s staying busy and sane while dealing with the pandemic, what his life is like after Warped Tour and how young professionals can take necessary steps to become marketable and get involved in the live event industry. The conversation also dives into the very beginnings and ending of Warped Tour and just how much of an impact the traveling festival has left on a generation. We also ask the tough questions like what he misses most about Warped Tour, if Warped Tour will make a comeback and whether or not a hot dog is a sandwich.
