Here comes the Thanksgiving edition of the newsletter. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Let’s get to the news.
OUT NOW: Did When We Were Young Festival f**k up?
This week, When We Were Young Fest announced their 2024 emo lineup. This time it was with an emphasis on bands playing their respective iconic album in full. However, social media noticed there was one glaring issue with the lineup: it heavily lacked a female presence. With social media ablaze, When We Were Young Fest suddenly entered damage control and started announcing new bands to the lineup... and those new bands all happened to be female-fronted groups. So what say you? Do you think When We Were Young Fest messed up and are now trying to save face? This episode has us debating these exact questions.
Elsewhere in the episode, we discuss Charlotte Sands' new song "pity", Green Day having a good week, and Spotify's new royalty payment policy that probably isn't as bad as most initially thought.

ICYMI: What’s wrong with the new blink-182 album? In this episode, John and Tyler get very critical as they review blink-182’s latest no. 1 album, “One More Time…”. There are a lot of thoughts out there on this record, especially when it comes to the drums. But after speculating that blink-182 released two different versions of the record which sounded noticeably different, they graded the vocals, the music, the production, and the overall album. They also discuss where the album ranks in blink-182’s catalog. And at the end, they pick their Top 3 tracks.
There were a few blink-182 related interviews that took place this week. Here’s one with Travis Barker talk about the band and his personal life. Then there was one with Aaron Rubin talking about producing blink-182’s latest album. And then another one with Aaron Rubin.
When We Were Young Fest announced it’s 2024 lineup with My Chemical Romance and Fall Out Boy headlining. And the main theme of this festival is full album sets. And then added a second date. The fest is set to take place on October 19 and 20 in Las Vegas.
Green Day rules mainstream rock airplay with “The American Dream Is Killing Me”. It’s the eighth time the band has reached the No. 1 spot.
Travis Barker becomes first musician to perform for Peloton. I’m a Peloton user, and I have yet to try out any of the classes with him drumming. It’s on my list of things to do.
