Speaking of Paramore, the band is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their self-titled album with a new double vinyl.
It looks like the music industry is losing money to mash-ups and sped-up songs. According to one person familiar with the matter, he says when it comes to TikTok, SoundCloud, Audiomack, YouTube, Instagram, and more, there are “more than 1 million unlicensed, manipulated songs that are diverting revenue away from rightsholders this very minute.”

Labels are trying to stop acts from re-recording their albums like Taylor Swift. To me, this seems like too much of a knee-jerk reaction. I can’t think of any other artist who could pull off the success or re-recording their material like Taylor Swift has.

Spotify is about to piss off a lot of artists. It’s been reported that the majority of tracks available on Spotify won't qualify for royalty payments under the new 2024 proposed scheme by the company. As per an article by Kristin Graziani, president of music distributor Stem, tracks must achieve at least 1,000 streams within a year to be eligible for royalties. As per the article, nearly 66% of Spotify's catalog has never met the minimum 12-month stream count required to qualify for royalties.

Slipknot announce departure of drummer Jay Weinberg. The Iowa band officially declared on social media their commitment to evolve and announced the "creative decision" for Weinberg to depart from the band.
