News you may have missed! (1/8/21)
Travis Barker confirms new blink-182 album, Rockers react to Trump supporters rioting Capitol building, Halsey launches emo makeup line and much more!
What’s up, everyone?! Welcome to all of the new subscribers we received over this last week. I (Tyler Winters, founder of All Punked Up) am super happy to have you on board.
To catch some of you up, in last week’s mailer, I mentioned that the All Punked Up site will be changing in terms of how much news we actually post. I am primarily the main news poster on the site. After starting our podcast and everything that comes along with that, I’ve realized that I am stretched pretty thin when it comes to everything needed to run the brand/site. Frankly, it’s just becoming exhausting to do it all. So I’ve decided that news on the site will be very limited. The All Punked Up site will still post content from the site’s contributors like reviews, lists, quizzes, opinion pieces, etc., but the actual news will just be less.
With that said, I know news is the main reason people follow All Punked Up, and it’s still a very big part of the brand as a whole. Because of that, I still plan on having All Punked Up deliver the news; however, it will be found more on our weekly podcast and heavily in these newsletters.
So if you have a friend or relative that enjoys the scene we cover, it would be so awesome if you could share this newsletter with them and encourage them to sign up because this is the best place to get your scene news.
Now that you’re all caught up, let’s get to the news.
The All Punked Up Podcast
For anyone struggling with mental health, I definitely recommend checking out this week’s episode.
On this week’s episode of The All Punked Up Podcast, Julia and Ally sat down with best selling author Mike Henneberger for his book Rock Bottom at the Renaissance: An Emo Kid’s Journey Through Falling In And Out Of Love In And With New York City. Mike is an Emmy-winning producer with credits from Comedy Central, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Spin, and Vice. This very book debuted at #1 on many Amazon Best Sellers charts.
Rock Bottom at the Renaissance is Henneberger’s mixtape memoir about music and mental health, soundtracked by the emo, pop punk, and indie rock bands like Jimmy Eat World, The Dangerous Summer, Dashboard Confessional & more. The songs are ones that helped pull Mike through one of the lowest lows of his major depressive and anxiety disorder.
You can listen to this episode now here.
If you aren’t already subscribed or follow our podcast, you can do so over on Apple Podcasts or Spotify or wherever you listen to your favorite podcasts!
Additionally, if you happen to be a fan of our show, it’d be so awesome if you could consider supporting our show and help keep this little independent thing going. And if you can’t monetarily support the show, that’s absolutely fine! Any help in the form of spreading the word is greatly and even more appreciated.
