blink-182’s new album to feature Grimes, Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell
Travis Barker was a guest, along with Trippie Redd, recently on Rock This podcast with Allison Hagendorf (Spotify exclusive podcast). On the show, he was asked about blink-182’s upcoming album which he said was “60 percent done”. He also spilled the beans that blink-182’s next album will feature Grimes, Lil Uzi Vert and Pharrell.
Here’s what he said:
“There’s like a song with Grimes right now that’s really, really cool that I love. There’s a song with Uzi that’s really, really cool that we did with Pharrell.
“I mean, it’s not like Blink’s making a rap song or anything. It’s like bringing Uzi over to our world. So it’s more of a punk kind of like reggae feeling song.
“I don’t think Blink will ever be anything but a pop-punk band. I mean, that’s who we are. And I feel like our fans have kind of journeyed with us when we’ve done songs like ‘Miss You’ or ballads like ‘Adam’s Song’.
“But, like, we’re never going to veer too far off from what we are – like, I’m like a punk kid at heart, you know what I mean?
“Whether it’s like pop-punk with Blink or whatever with [Machine Gun Kelly] or whatever with Trippie, that’s where my heart’s at. Like, I was raised on rap music and punk rock music. It’s kind of all I know…”
Daft Punk call it quits
Daft Punk, the Parisian duo responsible for some of the most popular dance and pop songs ever made, have split. They broke the news with an 8-minute video titled “Epilogue,” excerpted from their 2006 film Electroma. Asked if Daft Punk were no more, their longtime publicist Kathryn Frazier confirmed the news to Pitchfork but gave no reason for the breakup.

Attila sued by security guards over violence at 2018 concert
Members of Attila are being sued by two Hard Rock Cafe security guards in Las Vegas, Nevada due to violence between them and the band during a 2018 performance at Rage Fest.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal writes:
The lawsuit, filed Wednesday in Clark County District Court, alleges that Fronzak and fellow band members Christopher Linck and Kalan Blehm were “lunging after, punching, attacking, kicking, throwing objects at, and/or striking” guards Patrick Anderson and Russell Miner.
According to the lawsuit, the guards suffered injuries to their heads, necks, backs, shoulders, “all or some of which conditions may be permanent and disabling in nature.”
The suit alleges that Hard Rock officials failed to provide “safe premises” for the guards.
Travis Barker launches new CBD line
Travis Barker has an announcement to make — and it has nothing to do with romance or relationships.
The drummer, writer and producer is adding lifestyle entrepreneur to his resume this week, with the launch of Barker Wellness, a new line of cannabinoid-infused products designed to help users find a little rest and relaxation, whether you’re a platinum-selling musician on the road, or just hanging solo at home.
Barker Wellness launches this week with products targeting three main areas of focus: sleep, maintenance, and recovery. The product lineup includes THC-free tinctures, a pain relief cream, and “snap packets” (think pre-measured tinctures in individually wrapped squeeze packages) designed to be used on their own, or simultaneously (a press release says the products “work harmoniously to promote full mind and body wellness”).
Spotify to let you filter your liked songs by mood and genre
Starting today, Spotify is rolling out a new way for our listeners to easily sort their “Liked Songs” collection for every mood and moment through new Genre and Mood filters. With this new feature, listeners with at least 30 tracks in their collections will be able to filter their favorite songs by up to 15 personalized mood and genre categories.
Here’s how to turn on (and off) the new filters:
Go to “Your Library” and tap on “Liked Songs.”
Then, tap one of the filters at the top of the playlist header to display all the tracks that fall under that mood or genre.
When you’re ready to move to another mood or genre, simply tap the “X” next to the genre or mood to disable the filter and return to your full “Liked Songs” collection.
This feature will be rolling out over the coming weeks to Free and Premium listeners on Android and iOS devices in English-speaking markets including the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Album Spotlight
Here’s an album that reaches for the new pop punk / rock sounds we’ve been getting lately from the likes of Machine Gun Kelly and MOD SUN.
NEON SHARK vs Pegasus from Tippie Redd is a 2 part album.
The first half of this record co-written with the legend Travis Barker is full of tracks to put on and vibe to. Opening up with “PILL BREAKER” featuring big name artist Machine Gun Kelly and Blackbear, you get caught with the instant catchy and dark chorus to set the mood for the rest of the album. With Neon Shark coming in at just under 40 minutes you go through a trip of ups and downs that have you singing the catchy hooks and air drumming all at the same time. Alongside Trippie Redd, you have some big names. Like mentioned above you have Machine Gun Kelly and Blackbear, but also Deftones’ Chino Moreno on the track, “GERONIMO”.
The second half of this album is actually Trippie Redd’s 2020 release, Pegasus. If you’re a fan of rap, then you will definitely be a fan of this side of the album. The channeling of dark topics over catchy instrumentals will have you listening over and over. Pegasus, is also filled with some very impressive features such as Lil Wayne, Future, Quavo, and many more!
With both parts of the album coming in together at 1 hour and 54 minutes, you have to schedule a whole part of your day to be able to listen to it all, but it is definitely worth it!
