News you may have missed! (3/13/20)
Sad Summerfest is back with an announcement! Big plans for All Punked Up and much more!
Hey, everyone! Welcome back to another mailer. I failed to send out the mailer last week. Oops! So this week, I’ll include some news of the past couple of weeks. This edition includes me (All Punked Up founder) coming back with another Random Thoughts segment where I discuss the changes coming for the brand.
But before we get to that, real quick…
We REALLY want to feature YOU on All Punked Up!

So with that said, let’s get to why you are here.
News you may have missed…
With the widespread news of the coronavirus, concerts across the world are being postponed. I imagine this is going to be the start of a slow news cycle in the music world for quite some time. You can read about some of the postponed concerts below.
During this time, let’s make sure we are taking precautions not only to keep ourselves safe, but others around us too. It’s being recommended that we not touch our face and that we wash our hands for at least 20 seconds. Above all, if you feel sick, stay home.

Random Thoughts
The future of All Punked Up on the web
If you’ve been following this series for awhile, you already know that I’ve been thinking long and hard about a re-design for the news site. I recently redid the shop site and am loving the minimalist look and feel. It’s definitely something I want to translate over to the news side.
However, my focus has kind of shifted a little. Here’s what I’m thinking right now. First, the shop is super important to me and the future of All Punked Up. To be honest, it means more than the news site does. Not only does it generate much more income than the news site, but it allows me to feel more motivated, it allows me more creative freedom and it gets me excited. The news site does not do it for me personally.
With that said, I don’t want this to come off as me saying that the news is going away. I’m in no way thinking about discontinuing the news as I realize this is still an important piece to the history of APU and to why you follow us in the first place. However, my priorities are changing a bit. So here’s my plan as of today (and this could change):
First, currently we the All Punked Up Shop at shop.allpunkedup.com and the News site at allpunkedup.com.
Since the All Punked Up Shop is something that is super important to me to grow and I feel it is and can be the future of this brand, I’m thinking of making the All Punked Up Shop be allpunkedup.com. If I do that, then the news site will move to something like news.allpunkedup.com.
So what would this mean to you, the reader? Not much really. My goal is to somewhat combine the two sites. You’d still get all of your news at allpunkedup.com, you’d just be able to shop while you’re there too. I personally think it makes for a better experience. But what about that news.allpunkedup.com URL? That wouldn’t be something you as a reader would need to worry about. This URL would primarily be used by the writers only and would basically be where the original posts would live. My idea here is that I would somehow have a feed deliver the posts from news.allpunkedup.com to allpunkedup.com where you’d be able to read the posts.
Some of this may sound a little technical, but I feel like housing all of this stuff together just makes more sense. Plus, if I can pull this off, the site will definitely load much faster than it currently is on allpunkedup.com as this site has become heavy and large over the past few years and just doesn’t perform as well as a result. One other thing I need to consider is SEO. I need to make sure our SEO will not be affected as I feel like our SEO now is pretty good and it’s where most of our traffic comes from.
Of course this is just in the beginning stages right now. I tend to come up with a few ideas and try to think them through. This is one idea, right now, that I think I like the most.
All Punked Up Shop news…
We made an announcement via our socials last week that our Girl from the Rock Show designs will be discontinued in the coming days. We currently have this design available in a few different styles. But again, it’s only for a LIMITED TIME.
If you’ve been thinking about purchasing one of these shirts, now is definitely the time because once they’re gone, they’re gone!
You can see all of our styles by clicking here! Here’s a new code that I’m handing out to subscribers first: Use PUNKED15 at checkout to save a little while you’re there. This code is only good until March 22 at 11:59PM CT.
