News you may have missed! (3/20/20)
A week of quarantining. Am I holding All Punked Up back? An All Punked Up Podcast?
Hey, everyone! I hope everyone is well. This week, I’ve been working from home as a lot of you probably are as well. This is a very weird time we’re living in right now. Perhaps the hardest thing to deal with is the uncertainty and lack of knowledge about the virus.
This weeks didn’t have a ton of music news which was expected. Pretty much all tours and everything is shutting down. But there was still some stuff to report. I’m also back with yet another Random Thoughts segment that answers the question: Am I holding All Punked Up back?.
Let’s get to it.
News you may have missed…
As mentioned last week, during this time, let’s make sure we are taking necessary precautions not only to keep ourselves safe, but others around us too. It’s being recommended that we not touch our face and that we wash our hands for at least 20 seconds. Above all, if you feel sick, stay home. Ok, to the news…
RESCHEDULED DATES: “It Is What It Is Tour” with Mayday Parade, Grayscale, Point North
NOFX drops new NSFW video for “I Love You More Than I Hate Me”
Watch Hayley Williams sing a stripped down version of “Leave It Alone”

Random Thoughts
The future of All Punked Up on the web (Part 2)
If you read last week’s Random Thoughts segment from me, then you know my thoughts on what I think is going to be the future of All Punked Up. If you missed it, I go into thorough detail of how I see All Punked Up moving forward in regard to our shop and news site which you can read here.
What I didn’t mention are the other facets we want to grow. I really want to see All Punked Up get into the multimedia mix. We started a YouTube channel a couple of months ago. So far so good with that. I’d love to see that one flourish. But one other thing that has been brought up for the last couple of years and I think we need to get into, is adding an All Punked Up Podcast. The topic of a podcast has only lightly been discussed between me and the team members over the years, but I’m hoping this year we could potentially launch something (fingers crossed).
What would the podcast consist of? The way I see it is, the podcast would hopefully be a weekly show that talks about the news from the previous week (sort of like this newsletter does), do some interviews, talk about albums and touch on topics in the scene where we share our personal opinions (think of it as a news show with a panel where we discuss our thoughts and opinions).
So who would be talking on this podcast? For starters, I would be the host. I have a friend who I think would be perfect as a co-host as he has podcasting experience and runs his own show now (and he sounds interested!). He’d pretty much be the producer. We were both heavily involved in the scene years ago when we were in high school and have never really lost the love for the scene, so he’s a perfect fit. I’d also love to get some of our team writers involved and making appearances. So we’ll see. I really really want to get into this podcasting space though.
In the past, I was a bit hesitant on starting the podcast because I knew I’d have to be heavily involved. While growing All Punked Up, I’ve kind of hidden or separated myself personally from the brand. I’ve done this because I didn’t want people that I know asking too many questions, judging or whatever comes along with people knowing about your side hustles. Now, I think it’s time that I’d step in front of the curtain a little bit more with All Punked Up and honestly not caring what people think. There aren’t a ton of people who know me that know that I run this company. I’m super proud of what we have here. I think it’s time to embrace it personally and professionally. I think me doing so can only help this company grow. I currently feel that me being behind the curtain in a way has been holding the brand back from its full potential. I think I need to be in this 100% by giving and showing 100%.
With that said, I personally want to thank you subscribers and the rest of our followers for hanging out and being apart of this journey with All Punked Up. It’s seriously because of you that this brand is going and continues to grow. Thank you thank you thank you!
