Fun Fact: Riding high on the success of their sophomore album Siamese Dream, Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan poured his creativity into their next album, churning out nearly 60 songs. The last one, a bare-bones track initially called "Strolling," faced rejection from the producer who said it was lackluster and unworthy of an album spot. Taking it as a challenge, Corgan spent the night revamping it, and emerged with the iconic "1979." This song not only became their biggest hit but also cemented its place as a defining moment in the band's legacy.
