Young music fans are increasingly turning to music piracy. The rise of peer-to-peer file sharing and the internet has exacerbated the issue of piracy in the music industry. According to data from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), a significant portion of young people engage in illegal methods of obtaining music. In 2021 and 2022, 30 percent of respondents admitted to infringing on copyright to access music, and 27 percent engaged in stream ripping, a method involving downloading content from platforms like YouTube or Spotify. Among respondents aged 16 to 24, the numbers were even higher, with 40 percent resorting to stream ripping and 43 percent illegally downloading music. Notably, stream ripping has become the most prevalent form of music piracy, accounting for 39 percent of online traffic to piracy sites in 2021, followed by unlicensed streaming services at 32 percent and web downloads at 24 percent.

Swedish gang members reportedly using Spotify to launder money. Gang members in Sweden are allegedly using Spotify to launder money, as reported by Svenska Dagbladet. The process involves converting illicit funds from activities such as drug deals, robberies, fraud, and assassinations into Bitcoin. They then use these Bitcoins to artificially boost the streaming numbers of artists connected to the gang, essentially purchasing fake streams. Eventually, they cash out the money earned from these fake streams. This scheme allows them to legitimize their illegal gains through the music streaming platform.

Anti-Flag Bandmates to Justin Sane: “Fuck You for Hurting So Many People”. Following new allegations of sexual misconduct against Justin Sane, former bandmates from Anti-Flag have issued a condemning statement. The accusations emerged after Kristina Sarhadi accused Sane of rape during a podcast in July, leading to the band's breakup. Twelve more women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct by Sane, including one involving a 12-year-old victim. In their statement, Anti-Flag expressed gratitude to the victims for their bravery, voiced support for potential future accusers, and directed anger towards Sane. They emphasized their shock, betrayal, and immediate decision to quit the band upon learning of the allegations, also highlighting their efforts to protect victims. The band pledged to engage in self-reflection, therapy, and support for survivors while condemning Sane's actions and exploitation of their work and beliefs. The statement concluded with a message of love, healing, and justice for all survivors.

The pop-punk trio began their teaser campaign earlier this week, featuring a mysterious website and posters. Their latest teaser involves a digital clock displaying 12:00 AM/PM on their social media platforms, accompanied by the same music snippets from the website. Promotional posters with the Blink-182 logo and the phrase 'One more time...' have also appeared, potentially hinting at the title of a new album or single. These posters may also contain song lyrics, as noted by Blink-182 Italia on X.
408 sign with Big Noise. It’s about time. This band, in my opinion, is one of the BEST modern-day pop-punk bands right now. It’s amazing that they’ve got on this long without a label deal.
