Welcome to the weekend! This week doesn’t bring us a ton of news, but it does bring us a lot of new music. We didn’t have a podcast episode released this week, as we took a much needed break, but we’ll be back Monday with a brand new one!
Let’s go ahead and get to the things for this week!

In my opinion, Olivia Rodrigo giving song writing credits to Paramore for “good 4 u” is ridiculous. There is no melody “stolen”. Even if it was just the chord progression that’s the same, there are at least 1000 other songs in the world that share that same progression. And just because someone was able to mash-up these two songs, doesn’t mean one is a rip-off of the other. We see mash-ups all of the time and hardly ever do we ever say after hearing those mash-ups “Oh man, they totally copied the other.” I like to think I have a good ear for hearing what we’d call a legit “rip-off”, but I just don’t hear it whatsoever in “good 4 u”.
