News you may have missed! (9/3/23)
Why are people saying this will be blink-182’s final album? + blink-182 postpone tour + NEW MUSIC!
Ugh. It’s already September 2023. Summer is basically almost over, and with the return of fall drinks at Starbucks a couple of weeks ago, maybe it is officially over and we’ve entered the autumn season. One thing that isn’t over is this newsletter (ok, that was lame). So let’s get to some music news from this past week.
But real quick: If you’re at all interested and you aren’t already, make sure to consider checking out and subscribing to our podcast, The All Punked Up Podcast. I really feel like John and I have really started hitting our stride. He’s been with the pod for over a year now, and I feel like we’re just getting started. If you dig this newsletter already and want a little more commentary (and lots of humor and sarcasm) to go along with it, then The All Punked Up Podcast is something I guarantee you’ll love.
Normally, our new podcast episodes drop on Mondays, but with the Labor Day holiday this weekend, the week’s episode will drop on Tuesday instead. So make sure to be following the pod so you get notified immediately when it drops.
Ok, that’s enough. Let’s get to it!

One death reported at Burning Man as attendees remain stranded. One person has died at the Burning Man festival due to a "rain event," according to the Pershing County Sheriff’s Office, but details about the cause of death and the individual's identity are not yet available. Approximately 70,000 attendees are currently stranded at the Nevada festival due to rain and mud, and they have been instructed to conserve food and water. Access to Black Rock City, the festival's location, is blocked, and organizers are waiting for safe conditions to reopen the gate. More rain is expected on Sunday, potentially causing further delays, and attendees have been advised not to attempt to drive out as it could hinder the departure process. Organizers are permitting people to leave on foot, but it involves a five-mile hike through the muddy conditions. Diplo and Chris Rock are among those reported to have made the journey on foot.
