Photo Series: Kings of the New Age Tour comes to Chicago
The Kings of the New Age Tour hit Chicago, Illinois the other night with one of the most stacked lineups a fall tour could ask for. In honor of their new album drop, State Champs took the stage for an outstanding headlining set. Performing alongside them was openers Young Culture, Between You & Me, and Hunny.
Each bands performance gave off the most contagious energy.
Each bands performance gave off the most contagious energy. With audience reciprocating the vibe given on stage, the recipe for an exceptional night was all there. You know it's going to be a fun filled show when an opener begins, and you immediately see crowd surfers. Young Culture was able to bring this out in the audience, with lead singer Alex getting on the barricade himself singing with the crowd. Between You & Me was a band I have never seen live, and I was incapsulated seconds into their set starting. There was so much running around stage, interaction with the audience, and a set conclusion with JT crowd surfing. It is extremely heartwarming to see a band visably loving what they do with everything in them. You could see this during the entire BYAM set. Hunny was next, to be the last opener before State Champs took the stage. Every time I have seen Hunny live, I always get a really feel-good response. This night was no different, and it was really evident the crowd was feeling the same. As an obvious crowd favorite, my fingers are crossed Hunny can make their way back to Chicago sooner rather than later.
State Champs is one of the most phenomenal bands I have ever seen live.
The night was flying by with how much fun everyone was having, and State Champs was up next. It was clear this was something so many attendees have waited some time for, and this set did NOT disappoint. State Champs is one of the most phenomenal bands I have ever seen live. I have been to dozens of concert, capturing probably over 100 bands with my photography, and this had to be one of my favorite performances to date. So much energy, a great stage set up with screen projections, fan interaction, and just a band who is happy to be doing what they love. After this performance, State Champs may just be on the top of my list of band to see again. If this tour is making its way near you, PLEASE GO! You can find the dates below. If you aren't convinced yet, take a look at the photo series to see how good of a time it would be!
