Rising artist Luke Reyvn releases new single, "Another Day"—premiere
On April 7, up-and-coming punk star Luke Reyvn released his newest single, “Another Day.” As Reyvn takes the stage in “a world that doesn’t really feel like home,” he works to draw the ears of those who have struggled in similar ways as himself, using this single as a way to speak out. Reyvn is an artist who repeatedly emphasizes that he wants his music to be relatable to as many people as possible.
For the young singer, this new single speaks to his experience trying to navigate the world around him and find his place within it. He says, “Coming from a small town, I always felt like I didn’t fit in with the other kids that I grew up with. I was always more interested in creativity and the act of creating rather than the popular physical activities which most of my peers grew up doing. This song is an expression of how I felt being the ‘outcast’ and searching for ‘another day’ where I might feel like I fit in. However what I came to learn was not that I wanted to fit in but rather find purpose. So when it came to writing the song I really wanted to express this yearning for purpose and the hardships I faced along the way.” When speaking to Reyvn about his listeners, the very first thing that he indicated was that he wanted them to know they are not alone.
In the alternative scene especially, it isn’t uncommon for emotions to be overshadowed by a song’s high energy. When asked about the value of vulnerability, Reyvn said that he finds it to be an essential component of good music. “I think being genuine through the music I make is extremely important because otherwise a song will lose the raw emotions,” Reyvn said.“That for me can make or break a song that I’m listening to.”
Reyvn goes above and beyond to exemplify the power of vulnerability. He continues, “As the song progresses, I talk about how I needed to escape the space I was in. However I realized that no matter where I go, this same looming feeling would follow me. It wasn’t until I found something that felt bigger than just me that I was able to finally let go of the self deprivation and start to embrace what makes me different. For me it was music.”
The young artist just touched down in L.A. in January, and is already making the most of his relocation to take his career to new levels.
