The Beaches drop break-up anthem “Blame Brett”, announce album
Canadian alt-rock quartet, The Beaches, are back and better than ever with their latest single "Blame Brett" set to release on May 5th. The track is a perfect combination of humor, bitterness, and sorrow, making it a truly unique break-up anthem. With an unapologetically chaotic and daring sound, "Blame Brett" promises to be an unforgettable addition to any rock lover's playlist.
Complimenting the single's lively and hedonistic vibe, The Beaches have released a music video that follows the band as they jam out in colorful leather, cheerleader skirts, slinky lingerie, feather boas, and 90s sunnies. "Blame Brett" promises to be a memorable and wild ride that fans won't want to miss. You can check out the music video below.
On the single, lead vocalist Jordan Miller says: “‘Blame Brett’ is a song with a little bit of a misleading title. It’s not really about my relationship. It’s about feeling vulnerable and afraid to open your heart to someone new. I'm basically talking to my future partners, explaining that I can only offer something casual while my heart heals—a song for all the hot messes out there.”
To accompany the single release, The Beaches have also revealed their sophomore album Blame My Ex, which is set to arrive this autumn. Fans can expect more of the band's signature alternative rock style mixed with bold and daring lyrics.
The band has previously opened for legendary acts such as The Rolling Stones and Foo Fighters and have shared the stage with critically acclaimed artists like Avril Lavigne, Alanis Morisette, The Aces, Passion Pit, and Eagles of Death Metal. Their last album received high praise from none other than Elton John, who described it as "the best rock album of last year." The Beaches have also been recognized with two Juno Awards for Rock Album of the Year (2022) and Breakthrough Group of the Year (2018).
