The Cab is teasing a reunion album

Y’all remember The Cab, right? They put out two stellar albums in 2008 and 2011, blessed us with a five song EP in 2014, and then virtually disappeared. Lead singer Alexander DeLeon got busy putting out solo music under the moniker “Bohnes” (which is definitely worth the listen) and getting engaged to Victoria’s Secret model Josephine Skriver, and the world kind of forgot about The Cab. 

But I didn’t. I still listen to The Cab on a regular basis. They left us too soon. 

And now? Alex DeLeon and bandmates Alex Marshall and Dave Briggs have been teasing news of a brand new album by The Cab over five years after their last release.

If the Jonas Brothers have taught us anything in 2019, it’s that bands can get back together and put out an album that’s just as good as their stuff from all those years ago. 

Now, if only my other favorite bands can take the hint and release new music! Cartel and My Chemical Romance, I’m looking at you. 

In the meantime, everyone should take this moment to brush up on your knowledge of The Cab’s discography before they release new music. Start with “One of THOSE Nights,” which features both Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco and Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. (Honestly, can you name a more iconic collaboration?) 

Then move on to the more underrated bops like “Take My Hand,” “I’ll Run,” and “That ‘70s Song.” And if you’re looking for some ballads, look no further than “Endlessly” and “Vegas Skies.” 

It’s about time that The Cab is appreciated for their talents.
