Travis Clark serenades his family on stage during "Sad Song" in Nashville
Travis Clark, lead singer of We the Kings, has had a blast so far on the Where I Belong tour with Simple Plan, State Champs, and Northbound. While the tour makes stops at over two dozen locations, Clark’s home state, Florida, did not get blessed with the presence of the power tour. His wife and three children all reside in Florida and miss him terribly while he is on tour.
The closest show to Florida was the show at Marathon Music Works in Nashville, Tennessee. On November 7th, Travis posted a picture of his beautiful family at the airport. He flew them into town to see the show on the 8th! Plus, his sister-in-law resides in Tennessee, so the trip turned into a mini family reunion.

A True Family Man
About halfway through the We the Kings set, the band receded from the stage. Travis stood there and got emotional with the crowd:
“I have the most beautiful wife. I can’t get over it. I can’t believe she is with me. I don’t know why. I have my father-in-law and my sister-in-law holding my three-month-old baby, who looks like the baby from the Simpsons… and you better believe my daughter is swagged out like crazy.”
Travis serenaded his family with “Sad Song.” His wife sang and danced alongside him on stage and his in-laws did the same. He tried to hand the mic to his oldest daughter several times, but she got stage fright. There were times where she was singing some of the words with her parents. The crowd was so moved. His family got a little emotional on stage. There was not a dry eye in the room.
When the song was over, the crowd chanted his wife’s name, Jenny. Travis was taking aback by this. “I think this is the first crowd that has ever chanted my wife’s name. So, thank you for that.”
All three bands performed their hearts out that cold night in Nashville and enjoyed the after-party at the Marathon Music Works bar with fans. Some videos on Instagram displayed an after-after party on the bus with very sweaty and drunk members from all four bands that performed that day.
The Where I Belong tour continues through the end of November and We the Kings will be on tour through the beginning of December. Make sure to grab your tickets to a show near you!
