twenty one pilots reveal new album will be released sooner than originally planned
twenty one pilots' Tyler Joseph, in an interview with Zane Low, revealed that he is currently working on a follow-up to 2018’s album Trench, and that despite being in quarantine due to coronavirus, they are staying busy.
Joseph stated that we should be expecting to hear a new album from him and Josh Dun sooner than what we think. “I’m not sure when it will be released but it’s definitely going to be released sooner than we were planning on releasing the record,” stated Joseph.
When talking about the album Joseph stated, “I don’t know if it’s this in-between record or if it’s a continuation of the narrative and where we left off. It’s kind of hard for me to tap into the story of 'Trench' and what we’ve been building on up until that point without being out there. Without touring, without having those live shows, without interacting with our fans”
He goes on to tell Lowe, “Man, as much as I appreciate everyone getting on their computer and playing acoustic bedroom versions of stuff, it’s old for me. I don’t want to just do that. I want to talk to our fans through a record. That’s what I’m currently working on. Right before I got on this call, I was working on a new idea. I am excited about it.”
